Geologist - Adviser of the Geologists Order of Lazio

He graduated with highest honors and cum laude in Geological Sciences at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with a thesis on the characterization of geological, geomorphological and geomechanical units flysch between Gubbio and Gualdo Tadino Valfabbrica (May 1987).

Member of the Geologists Association of Lazio with the No. 650 (since May 1989).

After about 2 years of training experience, he founded firstly in 1989  Geoplanning Studio Associate and then in 1994 Geoplanning Services for the territory Srl, Roman company which for 20 years has been working in the areas of geology, geotechnical and structures controls / supervision: he worked as managing director and technical director.

During these years Geoplanning has obtained:

  • the grant by the Ministry of Infrastructure to perform and certify geotechnical analysis under the circular 7618/STC (DM n. 53582 of 1:07:05);
  • the registration in the Highly Qualified Research Laboratories Register at the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MD of 20:11:03; Gazz.Uff.Rep.It. of 9:12:03);
  • the certication of the Company Quality System in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 (July 2003).

He has done consulting for: Adanti, Aeronautica Militare, ANAS, Astaldi, Atac, Autostrade per l’Italia, Banca d’Italia, CCIAA di Roma, CMB, CNR Centro Nazionale delle Ricerche, Comune di Genova, Comune di Roma, Croce Rossa Italiana, ENEA, ENEL Hydro, INAIL, INPDAP, INPGI, Ministero della Difesa, Ministero della Sanità, Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali, Poste Italiane, Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri, Presidenza della Repubblica, RAI Radio Televisione Italiana, Regione Lazio, Soles, SPEA, Stato Città del Vaticano, Techint, Technip, Todini, Trevi, Università degli Studi di Padova, Università degli Studi di Roma “Sapienza”, Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata, Università degli Studi di Roma Tre e Università degli Studi di Siena.

He has worked in the Geological field for many Superintendence related to  Archaeological  Heritage and  Cultural Heritage, dealing among other with the sites of S. Angelo Castel and the Royal Palace of Caserta.

Secretary dell’ALGI Italian Geotechnical Association Laboratories, from November 2005 to May 2010.

Since June 2007 he is a national councillor of SIGEA Italian Society of Environmental Geology and national secretary  (May 2008 – May 2013). From December 2005 to September 2010 past-President SIGEA Section Lazio, cultural association for the promotion of Earth Sciences more responsible in the use of the land and its resources.

Since the beginning of 2007,he is in the Board of Geologists of Lazio: firstly as councilor, then as treasurer, then as Vice President (October 2009 – October 2013), and now again as Counselor.

It has been a full member of the State Examinations Commission for geologists at the University of Roma Tre in 2004 and at the University of Rome La Sapienza in 2005.

In 2010 he is author together with Sergio Storoni Ridolfi of the book ” Geology and Geotechnic Engineering” published by Dario Flaccovio Publisher. Together with Marina Fabbri, Maurizio Lanzini and Maurizio Scarapazzi  in 2007 he published the text “Interpretation of geotechnical parameters” with Di Virgilio Publisher. In 2005 with Joseph and Julius Gisotti Pazzagli he has written for  Summary Publisher the book “Urban Geology of Rome.”

He has authored about 35 publications published in the major national and international magazines.

Currently he participates at a research on aspects of soil mechanics of the recent floods of the Tiber River within the city of Rome, in partnership with the National Research Council IGAG and the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering of the University La Sapienza of Rome.
