Architect - Full Professor of Theory and History of Restoration at the Politecnico of Milano

He holds a professorship in the field of architectural restoration in 1980 , teaching first at the IUAV in Venice and then at the Politecnico of Milano, where he graduated and completed his academic career and where he is now professor emeritus; there he has been director of the Department of Conservation and History of Architecture, 1986-1989 , co-founder of the PhD course in Conservation and Preservation of Architectural Heritage , in 1989 he founded the school of postgraduate specialization in Restoration of monuments which he has directed until 2011; in 1982 he opened and directed the TeMA magazine ( Time , Matter , Architecture ) . He is also the author of several books and essays on topics of modern architecture , especially of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth centuries , history, theory and techniques of restoration , he worked as planner and consultant for important monumental buildings , including Palazzo dei Conservatori and the church of Sant’Agostino in Bergamo, Bramante cloisters in Sant’Abbondio. the Torrazzo in Cremona  and the ancient Ospedale Maggiore in Milan.
